Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004, the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is one of the most incredible and beautiful gardens in Africa. Nestled at the eastern foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town, the garden is one of nine National Botanical Gardens covering five of South Africa’s six different biomes. Meander down the paths that explore the meticulously crafted and maintained flora which contains many species of fynbos. Relax on the lawns one can indulge in a picnic of wine and cheese and if that doesn’t appeal there are also two restaurants and a shop, with an indigenous nursery and a sculpture garden. Finally, the Boomslang is an amazing canopy walkway which provides visitors with brilliant vistas of the surrounding nature.
